Skip hire durations can vary, but in most cases, we offer hire periods from 7 to 14 days. If you need the skip for longer, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to provide a custom quote.
At City Skip Services, we believe in clear, upfront pricing with no hidden fees. We clearly outline which items can’t go in a skip to help you avoid surprise charges. To keep things running smoothly, make sure your skip is safely placed, loaded only to the top, and remains accessible for collection. If you’re unsure about space or access, just send us your address and a few photos — we’re happy to advise before you book.
Skips are to be used to dispose of inert, soil, garden waste, paper, plastics, wood, old household furniture and non-hazardous waste.
We cannot accept asbestos, and any fires in the skip. Additional fees will apply for disposal of carpets, mattresses, fridge, freezers tv’s/ computer monitor, car tyres on or off rim, JCB- plant tyres/ tracks, fluorescent tubes, sofa 3/4 seater, plasterboard, sofa beds/ futons, armchairs, dining room/ computer chairs, and cushions/ bean bags/ floor cushions.
We usually place skips on customer driveways or front gardens, as long as there’s enough space for our lorry to safely unload. Think of it like a crane – the skip is lowered using rear arms and chains. No driveway? No problem. We can sometimes place skips on public roads or car parks, but this requires a permit and possibly a parking suspension, which we’ll arrange for you. Just contact us in advance, and we’ll guide you through the process and any additional costs.

If it is on private property, then virtually anywhere the lorry can reach. All lorries have extending arms allowing us to drop skips in awkward and tight spaces. The lorries are approx 10ft / 3 metres wide and need a reasonably firm base on which to load/unload on and also to drop the skip on. If it is on the road, then space needed for the lorry to park in order to drop the skip directly behind it.

We can usually deliver a skip the next working day (subject to permits).
Skips can be kept for a maximum of 10 days, but if you think that you need the skip for longer please call our Helpdesk and one of our team will be obliged to find a convenient solution for you.
